About NEET 2020 Counselling
Every year NEET counselling is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on behalf of Medical Council Committee (MCC) and different state counselling officials and this year also all those authorities will conduct NEET Counselling 2020. MCC is said to manage the counselling process for only 15% All India quota seats (AIQ), Central Universities, Deemed Universities, Seats of Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) and Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) along with AMU and BHU in various states expect J&K. MCC will organize centralized counselling for the candidates of all categories. Remaining 85% of state quota seats will be held separately in various states government and private dental and medical colleges and in various self-financing institutions i.e., through NEET 85 state quota counselling. Candidates who want admission in the management category of private medical colleges have to apply for each college separately. One should note that NEET counselling will be held in the online and the complete procedure of the counselling is given below. There will be different rounds of counselling the NEET rank holder should undergo in to qualify for the admission in to various MBBS and BDS colleges. Through the NEET UG rank the candidates will get seat in MBBS or BDS colleges or institutions or universities located across the country. In all the following categories the MBBS and BDS seats will be filled through NEET.
- State quota seats
- All India quota seats
- State, NRI Quota, Management seats in private dental or medical colleges or in any of the private university
- Universities, central institutions, deemed universities
- Central pool quota seats
In order to appear for the NEET Counselling 2020 and admission, candidates qualified in the NEET 2020 with minimum qualifying score have to register separately with different NEET counselling authorities.
NEET Counselling for 15% AIQ Seats
DGHS will conduct NEET Counselling for 15% AIQ seats in 2 different rounds and for central and deemed universities in 3 rounds. Candidates who have scored the NEET cut off or above it that is set for AIQ seats will only be eligible for participating in this counselling. In this 15% AIQ counselling all the dental and medical colleges of the state will take part for giving admissions in their respective campuses. Through this counselling candidates can get the seat in the medical or dental colleges located in anyplace of India. Based on the All India Rank and the choices filled by the candidates the seat will be allotted through this counselling. It is expected that the first round of NEET counselling for AIQ, deemed and central universities would be held on June 2020 whereas, the 2nd round of counselling would be held from July 2020. As per the sources, the seats which are vacant after this AIQ counselling will be transferred to the corresponding authorities of the state counselling. The NEET mop up counselling round for central and deemed universities will be conducted by DGHS tentatively from August 2020. It is to be noted down by the candidates that, those who take part in this counselling can also participate in the state quota counselling of their respective states.
NEET 2020 State Quota Counselling
The NEET counselling remaining 85% state quota seats and other seats that come under the range of state will be conducted through state quota counselling. The candidates have to apply for this counselling in their respective state based on the rank obtained through the merit list given by respective counselling authorities. For admission in private medical colleges through NEET, the counselling will be held by corresponding authorities of counselling. To know more details of this state quota counselling or about NEET counselling for private colleges, candidates are advised to stay in touch with respective institutions and authorities. Documents Required for NEET Counselling 2020
In order to report in the college after NEET Counselling, candidates need to have and carry all the following documents and they are mandatory.
- NEET Admit Card 2020
- NEET 2020 Rank Card or NEET AIQ Rank Letter
- Provisional allotment letter generated in the online after seat allotment
- ID Proof
- 10th Class Mark sheet and Certificate (for date of birth proof)
- 12th Class Certificate and Mark sheet
- 8 passport size photographs
- Community Certificate (if applicable)
NEET 2020 Counselling Procedure
Candidates qualified in the NEET 2020 and want to participate in the NEET Counselling Procedure can check out the below given detailed process. NEET counselling 2020 either round 1 or round 2 involves a total of four rounds and they are detailed here.
NEET 2020 counselling Registration
At first all the candidates who wish to take part in the NEET Counselling 2020 have to do NEET counselling registration by login in the official portal. Once the registration process is completed, you will get a unique User ID and password to the registered email ID and mobile number. Using those credentials, you can proceed further.
Choice Filling and Locking
When it comes to this round, candidates have to fill the course and college choice as per their interest and preference. Once the candidates finish it, they have to click on the “Save” button for locking of the choices filled. It is mandatory to lock the choices and without clicking save your choices will not be saved.
After few days of the locking the choices, authorities will release the Seat allotment result in the online. Candidates can check their seat allotment result i.e., the course and the college they have been allotted in the online. Candidates will also get the SMS or Email with respect to the seat allotment and you can check them directly.
Reporting at College (NEET Admission)
After the seat allotment is done, candidates have to report at the college allotted for them in through the counselling and confirm the seat. Participants should pay the initial amount of fee in order to confirm their seat and need to complete the admission procedure. It is mandatory for the candidates to report at the allotted college in the given time period or otherwise the seat will be transferred to the next candidate automatically.
- If the candidate is not satisfied with the seat obtained in the first round of counselling, they can participate in the 2nd round of counselling same as above and get admitted in the college allotted. Candidates who get allotted the seat in second round of counselling of 15% AIQ counselling are not allowed for vacating the seat. However, you can follow the below process to resign the seat through online reporting.
- The counselling for central and deemed universities will be conducted in 3 rounds i.e., with 1 and 2 mop up counselling rounds. The vacant seats after the mop up round will be sent to the corresponding colleges for the third or final round of mop up counselling. In order to participate in this counselling, candidates have to register themselves.
NEET 2020 AIQ Online Reporting of Resignation
Candidates who are willing to resign for the NEET UG seat allotted for them after second round of NEET Counselling 2020 through 15% All India Quota need to get an online generated seat surrender or resignation receipt from the college that is allotted to them i.e., the receipt generated from the online counselling software. This facility will be available in the college that is allotted to the candidate. After resigning from the second round candidates will not be allowed for next round of 15% AIQ counselling. Candidates can also resign in the offline mode at the respective allotted college most probably and the participating institutions have to report all the offline resignations of the seats allotted in the online.
NEET 2020 Counselling Fee and Admission Fee
In order to participate in the counselling, the candidates have to pay the counselling fee prescribed by the authorities. Once the seat is allotted, the candidates have to pay the admission fee which includes tuition fee and other components. Candidates can check the details of fee directly from the college.
NEET Seat Matrix 2020
Within few days of time, NEET 2020 seat matrix for 15% AIQ seats will be released by MCC for various government and private colleges participating in the counselling across the country.
